Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the standard markup language used for creating web pages and web applications. It is a system for annotating text, images and other content to provide a structured document with logical sections. HTML is used to create electronic documents (pages) that are displayed on the World Wide Web and each HTML page contains a series of HTML tags that control the appearance of an element or control specific behaviour. HTML files must be saved with the .html file extension in order for them to be recognised by web browsers as HTML documents. The tags provide a series of instructions which are interpreted by browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer to render the content of the HTML page properly. | DOC is a file extension for documents created by Microsoft Word. It is an application in Microsoft Office suite, and one of the most popular word processing programs for Windows and macOS users. Word DOC files may include text, images, objects, styles, and other formatting. Such files are compatible with versions of Word from 1997 onward, and can be opened in many other word processing programs. When you create a document in Word, it's saved as a DOC file by default. These files contain different kinds of data stored in a binary format, making them much smaller in size than plain text files. If you wish to share a DOC file with someone who doesn't have Microsoft Office installed, you can save it as a PDF (Portable Document Format). |
